Abstract:
Data science is an interdisciplinary field that extracts knowledge and insights from many structured and unstructured data, using different scientific methods such as data mining techniques, machine-learning algorithms, and big data. Healthcare is a complex domain that generates a large amount of patient information including demographics, diagnostic images, reports, audio and video records. The tech talk will cover the different examples of applying the data science techniques in healthcare for faster and accurate diagnosis, preventive measures, and analytics-driven knowledge to improve overall patient care.

Mrs. Manisha Mantri works as Joint Director at the HPC- Medical & Bio-informatics Applications Group (HPC-M&BA) at C-DAC, Pune. She has over a decade of experience in the Medical Informatics field and has led several projects of national importance including the development of Telemedicine solutions, design and development of Nationwide Healthcare Information Store, Development of SDKs for HL7 v2.x, DICOM, SNOMED CT, and HL7 CCD.
